CHAOS BEACH FAQs
Why Beach Volleyball?
Beach volleyball is one of the best ways to become a stronger, more well-rounded athlete. With only two players per side, every athlete gets involved in all aspects of the game—serving, setting, hitting, and defending. This format builds a broader skill set and improves overall volleyball IQ.
Training on sand also enhances physical performance. The uneven surface increases agility, balance, and strength, especially in the legs and core. These gains directly translate to faster movement, improved stability, and more explosive power in indoor play.
Beach volleyball also sharpens your decision-making and adaptability. With no walls or defined team zones, players must react quickly to varying elements like sun, wind, and shifting court conditions. It’s not just a great workout—it’s a mentally engaging, team-focused sport that builds communication, resilience, and confidence.
What Happens in Bad Weather?
We play in all weather conditions except for lightning. If a practice or event is canceled due to weather, updates will be sent via message and posted on our social media platforms. Always check before heading out!
How Does Scoring Work?
Beach volleyball matches typically play to 21 points, with a win-by-2 rule (unless otherwise specified by the tournament).
Teams switch sides every 7 combined points (e.g., one team has 3 points, the other has 4, totaling 7). This keeps the match fair, as sun, wind, and even subtle court differences can impact play.
Most tournaments include:
Pool play in the morning (round-robin format)
Playoffs immediately following pool play
How Does Coaching Work at Tournaments?
Beach volleyball has strict rules for coaching during tournaments:
No coaching is allowed during live play or dead balls.
Coaches may only give instruction during timeouts and side switches.
Coaches may also hand players water during switches, but not offer mid-play feedback.
📢 Parents, please note:
Cheering is welcome, but calling balls in or out, or giving any instructional advice during matches, is not allowed. Let the athletes think, react, and grow through their own gameplay!
