James “JMAC” McCall

His legacy lives “On the Drop”

Coach JMAC started his coaching journey in 2005 at Lithia Springs High School. That season opened his eyes to a passion that he never thought he would pursue: coaching and training volleyball at the juniors level.

His resume included a State Championship in 2016 at Oak Mountain, then back to back State titles in 2018 and 2019 at The Heritage School.

Since his start, Coach JMAC has coached at several volleyball clubs in the Atlanta area. He eventually ended up at the nationally acclaimed A5 Volleyball. For 10 years, he coached and was mentored by some of the best volleyball instructors in the country. He has coached at the Open level and qualified several teams for USA Nationals. He has had countless athletes move on to the collegiate ranks at every level.

Coach JMAC coached at WGVA for 3 seasons and loved being a part of WGVA Chaos Volleyball. He loved being in the gym and training kids. He said, ”The best part is watching them grow as players and young ladies."

On Sunday, December 24, 2024 Coach JMAC lost his battle to Cancer. Coach JMAC has long been one of the great volleyball minds in the state of Georgia and we were overjoyed when he joined our club in 2021. He brought with him a wealth of experience and knowledge, immediately changing the culture of our club for the better. Countless players and coaches have been touched by his coaching and the sport is more popular than ever thanks in part to his dedication and passion. He will be missed deeply.
